Propane Tank Service Co. allows returns within 28 calendar days of the delivery date.
Returns requested after 28 days from delivery are not eligible for refund or exchange.
To qualify for a return, all the following conditions must be met:
The tank must be unused, unfilled, and undamaged
The product must remain in original condition and packaging
The item must never have been filled or connected to a propane system
Proof of purchase (invoice or order confirmation) must be provided
Due to DOT and NFPA safety regulations, any propane tank that has been filled or shows signs of use cannot be accepted for return.
To initiate a return, please contact our support team at service@propanetankserviceco.com within 28 days of receiving your order.
Our team will provide a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed return instructions.
Returns sent without authorization may be refused.

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for return LTL freight shipping.
We recommend using a trackable and insured carrier to prevent loss or damage in transit, as we cannot be held responsible for freight damage during the return process.
After the returned item is received and inspected (typically within 3 business days), an email notification will be sent confirming approval or denial of the refund.
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable.
A 20 percent restocking fee applies to all approved customer-initiated returns.
This fee covers inspection, repackaging, and compliance testing.
No restocking fee applies if the return is due to a verified error on our part (e.g., incorrect item or damaged on arrival).
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
Please include photos of the damage or incorrect item.
Once verified, we will arrange a replacement or full refund at no additional cost.
For safety and compliance reasons, the following items cannot be returned:
Used or filled propane tanks
Custom or special-order units
Clearance or discounted items
Installed or modified accessories
